Selecting Glasses

EyeCats stocks a wide range of eyewear including ready to wear reading glasses and blue light glasses as well as glasses accessories.

What strength (power/dioptre) should I choose?

Most people start to require reading glasses for reading and close work around the age of 45 and would normally start with a low corrective strength such as +1.00. Over time higher strengths usually become necessary to maintain reading clarity at a comfortable distance.

If you are uncertain as to your ideal strength we would recommend speaking with your optician who will be able to advise, either from your current glasses prescription or at the completion of an eye test.

You are welcome to return any items within 28 days for a refund should they not prove suitable. In this way you can make sure the strength you have selected works for you. Please see the returns section of this page for full details.

Please note that in the interests of eye health we recommend regular eye tests and consultation with an optician.

What quality standards do your glasses meet?

All our glasses are CE certified and all reading sunglasses feature full UV400 sun protection.

Do you sell glasses with clear lenses/without correction?

We stock a range of blue light glasses, available with clear lenses/without correction. These glasses reduce the blue light from digital screens. Please select strength +0.00 when ordering.

Can you make up my glasses prescription?

EyeCats sells ready-to-wear reading glasses rather than prescription glasses and we are not an opticians so unfortunately we are unable to make up your prescription.

Can I purchase your reading glasses and get prescription lenses put in them by you or an optician?

Unfortunately we cannot recommend or guarantee changing the lenses in our reading glasses since they are not designed for this purpose and are manufactured with the same strength in both lenses. Additionally, since we are not an opticians we are unable to make up any form of prescription.

Can I have different strengths in each lens?

We sell ready-to-wear reading glasses which are manufactured with the same strength in both lenses. Therefore we are unfortunately unable to offer glasses featuring different strengths in each lens.
